The tickets allow you to play mann vs machine which is a mod they have where you fight as a group against swarms of bots. But these mods require a ticket which you actually have to buy(hence the reason people like the tickets). The keys open the crates that are randomly awarded. The crates have a variety of special weapons/items in them. Again the keys are bought with real money. They give you the game for free but charge for certain aspects of it.
Actually tickets are used for like ranked matches were you earn items as you play, they have a free version of it called practice where you can play Mann VS Machine but not earn really anything. Unless they updated since I last played.
Ya the tf server is a fun server im kinda addicted to it. im new to the game so im just learnin how the game is played and how it works its super fun i bet its even better once you no what ur doing
