We recently purchased a laptop with windows 8, it seems to run more efficiently then windows 7, uses less ram and uses less cpu, but lets see what happens when or if it becomes bloated with updates like every other windows operating system. I'm happy with windows 7, so i wont be switching.
I'll keep my Windows 7 a bit longer. lol One thing about windows 8 it seems like it's more of a touch screen app kind of computer and if you don't buy a touch screen it's kind of pointless.
In my view, mouse and keyboard driven interface is superior to the tablet type interface. Tablet type interfaces should be used as a compromise when you do not have the benefit of a real console to use. To use them when you do have a real console available is just silly, again in my opinion.
Peoples misconceptions about Windows 8 is that it is only a touchscreen interface. However, you can switch it back to the regular desktop and if you use the website that is in the video you can even get the start button again. Currently I have Windows 8 on my laptop. It is more power efficient than Windows 7. I have also switched it to the regular desktop with the start button as I do not have a touchscreen laptop. If you switch it to the regular desktop with the start button it is like Windows 7 except some things made simpler. I am still using Windows 7 on my desktop computers.
