We are testing out using a service that runs ads on our servers when you first log on and show up in the motd. These ads will generate revenue for our clan which in turn can be used to expand our server base, pay for monthly giveaways, and ultimately help fund the growth of our clan. Those who use our servers are actually helping our clan each time they log on and can continue into gameplay after a five second delay. I just wanted everyone to have a heads up on whats going on and welcome any comments or commentary.
I've been wondering that every time I come into our servers what the 5 second wait was for. Though none of the current ads really played lol.
if you want to increase revenue, how about people who are AFK'ing in the server for credits need to watch ads once in a while? Since they're afk anyway, they probably don't care, and you can do make money off it instead of them wasting server bandwidth
Some of us are not farming credits. Being in spectate helps to get people in the server. Also when you are in spectate when it changes maps you view the ad again.
^true, the ads keep playing every map change. Also, When admins are in spectate, you dont know if we are watching or not.
this is cool, but i haven't seen any ads on the pub server. cause in the case it helps i'll go to bed leaving myself in spec all night long. best i can do to help at this very moment.
We've removed the server ads due to issues with it crashing clients. All donations are welcome to help out
Putting up ads on the servers is a great idea and thing to do but won't it make some not a lot but some people start to not like the server because they see ads every time they leave and come back or the map changes? I'm asking because I'm looking at it from a players' point of view.
like any free site they spam ads... want ads free? pay a donation! :b thats the way i see it. but yea i cant see why we dont have them they make people with crap PCs crash often. i've seen the ads on other servers before never made me crash.
